Ep. 139 — NATURAL BORN KILLERS (1994) with DJ Wilson

Our month of Gary's Picks continues! This week, we're moving forward to 1994 to discuss one of the most controversial films of the 1990s, Oliver Stone's NATURAL BORN KILLERS! We're joined this week by our friend DJ Wilson!

What began as a script by a pre-fame Quentin Tarantino became a much different beast as Stone and his collaborators were inspired by recent media circuses surrounding big criminal cases such as the Melendez Brothers and OJ Simpson, turning NATURAL BORN KILLERSinto a scathing satirical indictment of modern media.

We'll discuss how it made the transition into what it became, and why it was so controversial at the time (and whether it still feels controversial 25 years later).

And of course, we've nominated it for the Psychotronic Hall of Fame. What do you think? Is it one of the greatest cult films of all time?
