Trailer for TALES FROM THE HOOD 2 Promises More Socially Conscious Horror
1995's TALES FROM THE HOOD remains one of the best horror anthologies of all time (don't @ me) and its prescience is shocking. The film is probably even more socially relevant now than it was upon release.
Which is why it's exciting to know that Rusty Cundieff and Darin Scott are returning to the franchise with a new entry. Our pals over at Bloody Disgusting debuted this trailer — along with some info about when we can see it — earlier today.
Keith David is taking over for the retired Clarence Williams III in the role of narrator Mr. Simms, who tells four tales of "demonic dolls, possessed psychics, vengeful vixens, and historical ghosts.”
There's not a ton to go on in the trailer, but we get enough fleeting glances of the stories therein — involving police brutality, burning cities and the like — to know that Cundieff, Scott, and producer Spike Lee aren't pulling any punches.
TALES FROM THE HOOD 2 will be released on blu-ray, DVD and digital on October 2nd.
